Lagos — Executive Secretary, Eti-osa East Local Council Development Area, Mrs Samiat Mumuni, had assured primary schools in the area of improved infrastructure, to make learning more effective.
Mumuni said this during an inspection tour of primary schools in the area, where she expressed unhappiness at the situation, wondering how effective teaching and learning could take place under such environment. She said it is disheartening to see pupils seated five on a bench, with some seated on the ground and frowned at the way they sweated, adding that on enquiry, she discovered that there is no electricity in most of the schools, making it impossible for fan to be used.
She promised to provide electricity in the schools and provide fans, to make the environment conducive for learning.
Responding, Assistant Headteacher, Sangotedo Primary School, Mrs Victoria Jofortan, thanked Mumuni for the visit, and urged her to fulfil the promises as soon as possible. She also appealed for additional furniture, so that teachers and pupils could work in a conducive environment.
