Harare — The Zimbabwe Under-19 rugby side will this evening be on a revenge mission when they take on bitter rivals Namibia in the final of the World Championship Africa Zone qualifier.
The two Southern African countries won all their group matches to finish top in their groups .
Coached by former Sables mentor Bright Chivandire, the Young Sables will be out to turn the tables as they failed to make it for the World Championship last year after falling 20-23 to Namibia in the final.
The Zimbabweans felt they should have won the match but something went terribly wrong in the final minute.
Then Godwin "Jaws" Murambiwa was the coach and was being assisted by Chivandire.
Only two slots are available for Africa at the World Championship -- a move that has been criticised for hindering the development of the game in Africa.
The first slot is an automatic one for South Africa while the other International Rugby Board members will have to fight for the other slot.
Recently, the Zimbabwe Under-18 side, under the guidance of Murambiwa, won two of their matches at the Craven Week Rugby Festival in South Africa and in the process beat Namibia.
Some of the players that were in that squad were elevated to the national Under-19 side.
Meanwhile, a new champion is set to be crowned when last year's runners-up District Dragons take on rivals Old Hararians in the Northern Rugby League Cup final.
The match is set to kick-off at 3.30pm at Old Georgians while their second string sides will clash in the Division A final in the main curtain raiser.
The Dragons are yet to suffer defeat this season while Old Hararians have endured two defeats at the hands of the only unbeaten side.
