Kampala — THE Government should start paying full tuition fees for students of the Law Development Centre with effect from this financial year, Parliament has recommended.

"This will help the needy students accomplish their studies," the legal and parliamentary affairs committee said in its report presented to Parliament on Tuesday.

Committee chairperson, Stephen Tashobya said the Government pays half of the tuition fees for its sponsored students.

"Needy students can not top up since they are required to pay over sh1m to top up," he said.

The committee was concerned that LDC has not been receiving development funds for the last 11 years.

They recommended that government provides development funds to enable it build lecture rooms and staff offices.
