The current Beauty Queens of 2008 (Miss Ghana) have been presented with various goodies of products, from the major sponsors of this year's pageant, Somovision Ghana Limited.
Somovision, a leading company in home electrical appliances of world brands, in a short ceremony, presented prizes of products to the ultimate winners of the just-ended pageant.
The Beauty Queens were presented with top brand products of LG appliances.
For the current beauty queen, Miss Ghana, Miss Mawuse Appea, was presented with her prize of a metallic double door fridge with stylish finish, spacious interior and green iron door cooling, and a home theatre system.
While the first runner up, Miss Huberta Quartey, took home a 29-inch designer television set, and a high end home theatre, the second runner up, Miss Shirley Nwagere, took home a designer 21-inch television set and a home theatre.
Miss Mawuse Appea, Miss Ghana 2008, over the weekend paid a visit to the offices of LG-Somovision at North Kaneshie, to express her gratitude for their continued sponsorship for the Miss Ghana pageant, every year.
Mawuse said during her reign as the 2008 Queen, she would concentrate on creating awareness on Hepatitis B, since it was a dangerous disease, which was silently killing millions of people.
"It is my passion to make people aware of this dangerous disease, and let them do voluntary testing to know their status, because it is a fast killer," she said.
On his part, the Managing Director of Somotex Limited, Mr. Joel Hyde, congratulated the beauty queens for their performance during the pageant, and urged them to embark on the tasks associated with their new positions seriously.
He hinted that the company would be opening a new branch at Achimota, aimed at getting closer to its numerous customers, and also with the commitment of serving its customers better.
