Bolgatanga — THE PEOPLE'S National Convention (PNC) Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, David Apasera, has called on the voting public to vote his party to power in the upcoming elections, to bring affirmative change into their lives and the nation's economy. According to the MP, Ghanaians have tested other political parties and it was now time for them to embrace the PNC too.
Speaking at a short ceremony in Bolgatanga to confirm him as the parliamentary candidate for Bolgatanga central constituency, where he is the sitting MP, Mr. Apasera said there was so much corruption in the country, which needed a party with a 'clean' Presidential candidate like Dr. Edward Mahama. Mr. Apasera contended that no Minister under the regime of the Dr. Hilla Limann, the former President of Ghana was charged or jailed for corruption. This makes the PNC the most "cleanest" party in the country, which can purge the increasing rate of corruption.
He therefore appealed to the electorate and all Ghanaians to rally behind the PNC in case of run-off in the Presidential election, so that the party would get the nod to implement its good policies. Hon. Apasera, going for the third time, said he has supported over 100 students in Senior High School and Tertiary levels, constructed or assisted in constructing boreholes for communities in his constituency, and registered hundreds of women and children under the National Health Insurance Scheme. Mr. Apasera pledged to be more committed and honest in serving his constituents, and appealed to them to convincingly vote for him on December 7.
The Electoral Commissioner of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, Mr. Thomas Binyimba witnessed the acclamation and introduced the candidate to the 140 delegates from the 28 wards of the constituency. The enthusiastic supporters of the MP turned up in their numbers and defied a heavy down pour amidst drumming and dancing, and chanted the appellation of their MP. The Upper East Regional Chairman of the PNC, Alhaji Bawa Mohammed and the regional secretary, Henry Factchu, including some regional and constituency executives witnessed the peaceful ceremony.
