Kampala — UGANDA's ace driver Emmanuel Katto is lying fifth in the two-day KCB Easy Pay Loan Rally.

Katto, navigated by Moses Matovu in a Subaru Impreza N14, posted 45 minutes, 24 seconds after the fourth stage in Nanyuki town on the slopes of Mount Kenya.

The crew had made a brilliant start with a second-place finish after the first leg super special stage one on Friday.

Katto said yesterday that the car overheated causing it to slow down, a factor he said pushed them down to fifth position.

The driver is making a fresh attempt to claim the KCB rally title.

Katto has one win in Kenya to his credit after the Eldoret race success in 1999.
