Angola: Sambizanga's Electricity Supply Improves

Luanda — Six electricity transformers with a capacity to generate 1,000 kilowatts each were inaugurated in Luanda's high density district of Sambizanga on Sunday by local administrator, José Tavares, Angop witnessed.

The initiative that is part of the Luanda Electricity Supplying Company (Edel)'s Emergency Plan is expected to benefit about 2,600 families.

After the inauguration, José Tavares said the transformers will help solve the electricity needs in the district, announcing such initiatives will continue in other places of the district, under a combined effort between his institution and Edel.

In his turn, Edel's managing board chairman, João Baptista Borges, said the firm has just accomplished one more task of its social project, having highlighted the aid extended by Sambizanga district authorities.
