Luanda — The Speaker of the Angolan National Assembly, Roberto de Almeida, said that the ecumenical mass held last Sunday, in Luanda, shows that despite the difference in religious convictions it is possible to find out common points, ANGOP has learnt.
Addressing believers of christian churches, at Cidadela National Stadium, he said "this cult is the demonstration that although people have and belong to different churches it is possible to find out convergence and common interests among all, so one of these interests is peace.
After thanking the invitation from the leaders of christian churches in Angola, Roberto de Almeida exhorted believers to claim for peace, so that September 05 be a journey through which order, tranquillity, security and harmony prevail.
Roberto de Almeida expressed his confidence about the respect for the will of people expressed in the ballot, which will serve to continue consolidating peace and working so that Angola achieve the goals everyone desires.
"We want that on the next days after September 05, all the people can recognise themselves in the voting expressed in the ballot boxes" he stressed.
The results must deserve the respect of everyone, said the Speaker of the Angolan Parliament.
The desire of everyone is that Angola be a mother country for all Angolans, living in peace, harmony in workplace and hope for better days and life.
In the same mass, MPs Mendes de Carvalho, a veteran politician of the ruling MPLA party, highlighted the leadership of Angola's christian churches, saying that Sunday's mass was an opportunity for everyone to speak the same language.
Mendes de Carvalho said that the mass showed the expectation of Angolans so that the September 05 legislative elections take place in a good environment.
