Angola: Minister Stresses Importance of Viana Training Centre

Luanda — The Civil Engineering Professional Training Centre of Viana is the first in Angola, whose context is exclusively designed for the construction and public works sector, stressed this Monday in Viana district, here, the minister of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security, Pitra Neto.

The official said so during the centre's inauguration ceremony, having considered that the infrastructure is very important for the economy and workers of firms of the sector, where aspects of quality, demand and security are essential.

He stated that these aspects can only be guaranteed at specific professional training centres, having appealed to large, medium and small building firms to consider the institution as a constant and permanent partner, foreseeing the continuous training of staff.

According to the official, the Ministry of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security (MAPESS) wishes to assure the initial training of youths seeking their first employment, as well as dedicate a significant space and opportunity of training to those workers who already have jobs at civil engineering companies.

The Civil Engineering Professional Training Centre of Viana is a public undertaking equipped with administrative, financial and patronage autonomy, included in the organic structure of the National Employment and Professional Training Institute (INEFOP).

With 38 classrooms, capacity for 560 trainees, the centre will have courses in refrigeration, tactician driving, and maintenance of buildings, high-tech electronics, civil engineering electricity, industrial electricity, designing, budget surveyor and quality control, among others.
