Ghana: Annan Signs for Three Years

2 September 2008

Norwegian giants Rosenborg have captured much sought-after Ghanaian midfielder Anthony Annan.

The 22-year-old, who was linked to several clubs in Europe including Blackburn Rovers and Racing Santander, signed a three-year contract.

He moves from IK Start after spending three months on loan with Stabaek who could not afford the US$2.5m to sign him on a permanent contract.

"I am looking forward to playing here in Rosenborg," Annan said in Adresseavisen.

Annan underwent trials at Blackburn Rovers last month but both sides could not reach an agreement on his transfer fee and personal terms.

He shot to fame following his impressive showing at the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
