South Africa: Brazilian 'Students' Get Work Permits

2 September 2008

Bidvest Wits coach Roger De Sa is a happy man after receiving news that his newly-signed Brazilian players will available for selection for their away Absa Premiership fixture against Orlando Pirates next week.

The South American players work permits have been received and they could make their debuts against Bucs at the Coca-Cola Park Stadium next week Friday.

David de Oliveira, Fabricio Rodrigues and Andrey Almeida missed the Students first League game against Santos which was played at Bidvest Stadium last week Wednesday, due to the delay in the issuing of the work permits.

The Clever Boys won 2-0 to shoot to the top of the log.

De Sa has expressed his happiness about the way the Brazilian trio have settled in. He adds that he could give any one of them a debut against Pirates.

"This is definitely a morale booster for us ahead of the tough assignment against Pirates. They are fitting into the squad nicely.

"I have been very impressed with their performance at training and, depending on our game plan, one or two of them could be in the line-up next week."

With another new Brazilian player at Golden Arrows, Italo Fernandez, having shown some flashes of brilliance in last Saturday's League game against Pirates, the Wits' foreigners could also use the opportunity to introduce themselves to South African fans in great style.
