Luanda — Angola received a total of 194,730 foreigners in 2007, which represents a rise of 73,268 (62 percent) as compared with the preceding year that recorded 121,462 visitors.
The information is contained in the statistics bulletin of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism (Minhotur) released recently in Luanda.
According to the source, Europe topped the list with 89,351 people, followed by America, with 38,113 visitors.
Africa recorded 33,419 tourists, Asia (31,297), Middle East (1,278) Australia (1,272).
The authorities believe that this rise in the number of tourists entering Angola is owed to the environment of peace the country is enjoying for the last six years, coupled with the international events organised here, business and tourism.
