Nairobi — Tickets for the Kenya and Namibia World Cup/African Nations Cup qualifier that went on sale in different parts of the country on Monday are being snapped up like hot cake.

"We expect to run out of tickets by Thursday," G4S communication manager Carlos Kioko said on Tuesday. Kioko urged fans to buy their tickets early to avoid disappointment.

A spot check by the Nation in Nairobi showed numerous eager fans lining up to buy their tickets for the Saturday match at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

G4S, a security firm that has been contracted by the KFF to sell the tickets, say 54,000 tickets were on offer to the public. Tickets cost Sh500 for the VIP section and Sh200 for the terraces.

No match tickets will be sold on match day at the venue, the joint KFF/KPL Harambee Stars Management Board has declared.

Kioko warned people from buying tickets at non-designated G4S selling points.

"All tickets shall be checked at the gates to establish authenticity. Any holder of a counterfeit ticket shall be arrested," Kioko said.

Tickets are on sale in Nairobi, Thika, Kisumu, Nakuru, Mombasa and Eldoret at G4S offices and collecting centres.

Kioko said Kisumu had recorded impressive purchases.
