Kampala — A delegation of 190 Ugandan footballers and officials who travelled for the annual Ligi International soccer Cup in Nairobi returned home on Monday.
Unlike the previous year when the Ugandan High Commission in Nairobi had to rescue 120 Kampala Junior Team (KJT) kids who got stranded after the action, this year's trip was flawless.
Team officials ran out of money to feed and transport them back to Uganda last year prompting the Commission to intervene.
"We did not have any travel problems this time. We were better prepared and we planned well," KJT official Ismael Kabugo said on return to Kampala on Monday.
KJT players emerged winners of the U-12 and U-14 categories while Uganda Junior League (UJL teams walked away with the plate and bowl titles in the annual competition.
The UJL teams were partly sponsored by Air Uganda.
