Kanungu — President Yoweri Museveni who is on a Prosperity for All countrywide sensitisation tour, has appealed to the people of Kanungu District to join projects under the National Agricultural Advisory Services in order to increase their household incomes.
Mr Museveni said this on his first public rally at Kambuga sub-county headquarters on Monday where he enumerated the achievements of the NRM government since 1986. He said they only need to be supported so that all Ugandans can benefit.
"When we came to power, we had to deal with the poor infrastructure which had been run down by the former regimes. But now we want every body to utilise the good infrastructure to ensure that poverty becomes history" he said.
Mr Museveni who said that he earns more money from farming than the presidency, assured the people of Kanungu that they have the potential to become rich if they stopped dividing their land and concentrated on farming enterprises which can bring some incomes to them.
He explained that the government has allocated Shs120 billion for Naads for this financial year to work in all sub- counties in the country and therefore all people who want to escape poverty should embrace it.
