Uganda: Mpigi District Gets Sh260 Million for TB

Kampala — MPIGI district is to receive sh267m from the United States Agency for International Development to fight tuberculosis.(TB).

Dr. Paddy Busulwa, the central region coordinator for the TB programme, said the aim was to decrease morbidity and mortality by increasing case detection and treatment.

Busulwa said the district would receive microscopes, drugs and test kits to aid in detection and treatment.

The district TB supervisor, Charles Kaggwa, said about 1,000 people in the district are affected by TB annually.
