In what will certainly go down as a record at the Premier Soccer League, tickets for the MTN8 Final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs at the Absa Stadium in Durban have been sold out.
This amazing feat was achieved within less than a week of tickets going on sale and with more than two weeks still to go before the final.
The much anticipated Final takes place on September 20.
"This is fantastic news," said PSL CEO, Kjetil Siem.
"Fans are starting to understand the importance of acquiring their tickets early and we would like to see this trend continue for the rest of the season."
Tournament sponsors MTN also expressed their delight at the "house full" signs.
"The support that the MTN8 has received thus far has been overwhelming. It is clear that all the soccer fans in the country cannot wait to see who the last team standing will be for the record prize money of R8-million," said Anthony Garstang, senior manager for sponsorship and events at MTN SA.
Once again, fans with no tickets for the final are urged not too even bother to come to the stadium.
Strict measures will be in place to counter forged tickets and those trying to sell tickets on the black market will also be dealt with.
The match will kick-off at 20h15 and will be televised by both broadcasters, SuperSport and SABC.
