Luanda — The chairman of the African Youths Union (AYU), Seydou Ouattara, on Wednesday in Luanda said that the holding of the legislative elections in Angola will give a great support to democracy in Africa.
The founding leader of the AYU, whose headquarters are in Lomé City (Togo), has come to Angola to join the group of African Union (AU) observers to the Angolan electoral process.
Speaking to ANGOP, at Luanda's 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, Seydou Ouatttara stressed that the elections in this country will give a great support to democracy in Africa, having into account the peaceful way the electoral campaign is taking place.
The official is part of a group of 14 people coming from countries that belong to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), among them personalities from Mali, Togo, Ivory Coast and Senegal.
Also to follow the September 05 parliamentary polls are already in Angola observers from the European Union (EU), African Union (AU), Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP), as well as representatives from governments, national and international non
governmental organisations and institutions.
The legislative elections in Angola will be contested by 10 political parties and 4 coalitions.
