FOUR Namibian football referees will officiate at the 2010 World Cup qualifier between Burkina Faso and Tunisia on 06 September in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The Namibia Football Association's (NFA) Education Officer and Referees' Co-ordinator, Edwardth Ndjadila announced that the four Fifa-accredited referees were selected by the Fifa Referees' Committee to officiate during the second leg of the World Cup qualifier between the two countries.
The referees are Mathew Katjimune (referee), Sakeus Malobo Kweyo (assistant referee one), Hendrik Stefanus Swartbooi (assistant referee two) and Reinhold Shikongo (reserve referee).
The Namibian referees left for Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, yesterday via Johannesburg and France and are expected to arrive in Burkina Faso today.
Earlier this year, Katjimune officiated in an international friendly match between South Africa and Botswana, and went on to officiate at the Confederation of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Senior Challenge Cup held in Mpumalanga, South Africa, in July.
