Kampala — UGANDA's athletes will compete in Brussels with the objective of securing invites to the IAAF World Athletics final next weekend in Stuttgart, Germany.

The Van Damme event in Brussels will also see Olympic champion Usain Bolt of Jamaica, his compatriot Asafa Powell and American Tyson Gay renew their 100m rivalry.

World Athletics Tour (WAT) leader Abraham Chepkirwok, entered in the 800m, will be racing against Olympic gold medallist Wilfred Bungei and bronze medallist Alfred Kirwa Yego of Kenya in the competition.

Chepkirwok is also looking to end the season by bettering his 1:43.72 national record.

After an agonisingly finishing fourth finish at the Olympics, not even his second position finish in Zurich last Friday can offer Kipsiro some time to rest.

The promising runner will come up against a group of Kenyan runners that includes Isaac Songok, James Kwalia, Shadrack and Joseph Kosgeio, Eliud Kipchoge and Mike Kigen.

In the 10000m event, Boniface Kiprop has a chance to redeem himself after finishing 10th in the same event at the Olympic Games.

Benjamin Kiplagat is set to compete in the 3000m steeplechase.
