Federation of Uganda Football Association (Fufa) President Lawrence Mulindwa has said that the hot and humid conditions in Niger are not going to hinder the team from chasing victory in Sunday's crunch 2010 African Nations Cup/World Cup qualifier away to Niger.

The team arrived safely to hot and humid conditions.

"It's so hot in Bamako and I think we should find similar conditions in Niamey since it's a desert. But we have to remain focused so that the Sunday match finds us fresh," said Mulindwa.

The Cranes will have two training sessions at the Bamako National Stadium today, before departing for Niamey aboard Air Senegal at 7 p.m. Cranes skipper Ibrahim Ssekagya was due in Niamey last night and Mulindwa clarified that they had already arranged for him to be picked from the airport to Gaweye International Hotel where the team is residing.

The Cranes are hoping that Angola's Black Antelopes lose to Benin as that will automatically knock them out of contention.

Black Antelopes coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves departed for Cotonou in determined mood. "We will throw away caution, we are going for victory," he declared.

"It is going to be a hard game and Benin are difficult adversaries, but our objective is to win."

Gonclaves has dropped several players in order to inject competitiveness into the team.

Players left out of the squad by the coach include Manchester United startlet Manucho, Mantorras, Edson, Mendonca, Ze Kalanga, Figueiredo (tipped heavily by the media to be called up again), Maurito, Rui Marques and Marco Airosa.
