Nairobi — Five people have died of cholera in the Nandi East District in the last two weeks.
Four of them died in Tindiret while one died on arrival at the Nandi Hills District Hospital on Friday.
More hotels and restaurants have been shut in Nandi East and Nandi South districts following an outbreak of the disease last week.
Teams of public health officers were sent to Tindiret Division on Friday to study the situation and report back to the ministry.
One medic said so far no new cases had been reported and the situation was under control.
Of the five patients that had been admitted at Nandi Hills Hospital, three had been discharged.
