South Africa/Guinea: Bafana Go Local for Guinea

6 September 2008

Bafana Bafana coach Joel Santana has named a largely locally-based squad to face Guinea in an international friendly at the Super Stadium on Tuesday.

There is no Benni McCarthy or Aaron Mokoena, although Santana did say Mokoena had offered to play, but the coach wants to use this match to look at his local contingent.

Of the players who lost to Nigeria on Saturday, the only overseas stars to stay on are Matthew Booth, Lance Davids, Bevan Fransman and Siyabonga Nkosi stay behind.

Otherwise, it is a chance for the likes of Ajax Cape Town rightback Nazeer Allie, Bloemfontein Celtic striker Petrus Mahlatsi and Thanda Royal Zulu striker Bernard Parker to stake a claim.

The match kick-off at 18h00.
