Enugu — As Nigerians become increasinlgly anxious over the state of health of President Musa Yar'Adua, a royal father in Enugu State, HRH Igwe Patrick Eze (Waziri) has called on Nigerians to offer prayers, instead of politicising the President's health situation.
Eze who is the Eze Oha 1 of Egali Amalla in Udenu Local Government Area told THISDAY that what Nigerians who wished the President well ought to do was to pray for his quick recovery instead of turning his health situation into a political issue.
Noting that the President was committed to giving the country good leadership, he urged religious leaders and well meaning Nigerians to pray for the President to be hail and hearty at all times to provide the much desired dividends of democracy.
Eze reminded mischief makers that it was imperative that for all citizenry to offer genuine prayers for the president as it was only God that could heal the sick.
"What our President needs is prayer and not people trying to play politics out of it. Anybody can be sick, and the normal thing is that if you have a loved one that is sick, you pray for his quick recovery. Nobody is above being sick, nobody is health free. We see people fall sick and die everyday. Life belongs to God and nobody should be happy to see his neighbour sick, because you never know if you will be the next victim", he said.
Commending the administration of Yar'Adua as showing serious signs of giving Nigerians dividends of democracy, the monarch said that this was among the reasons why all and sundry should pray for the President.
Eze, who also commended Governor Sullivan Chime leadership, said the governor has put smile on the faces of the citizenry, through the various people-oriented projects across the state.
He said his people were happy that the Orba-Nsukka road, which was long abandoned has now become motorable after many years of dilapidation.
He called on well meaning people of the state to support the state governor so that he can continue his good work in the state.
Eze also called on the state governor to compel the chairmen of the local governments in the state to ensure that they utilize the allocations they receive every month.
He opined that the government should equally go into water projects to address the water probelms which most communities suffer in the state.
