Massawa — Different potable water supply projects have been implemented in the Northern Red Sea region at a cost of about 5 million Nakfa.
The projects include construction of ponds and water distribution stations, digging of wells, as well as installation of solar-energy device and generator. The inhabitants of five sub-zones, including Karora, Nacfa, Afabet, Foro and Gelalo will now have access to reliable potable water supply thanks to the newly implemented projects.
Moreover, another potable water supply project has been implemented in Anker administrative area, Nacfa sub-zone, at an expenditure of 1.5 million Nakfa. It involves two water distribution stations, a pond, a well and a 300-meter long water pipelines. Reports also indicated that efforts are being stepped up to undertake similar projects in Bada, Metkelabet, Abelo, Lahzien, Leaitai, Zula, Afata, Aget and Mahmimen.
