Youngsters, Lukman Haruna and Joseph Akpala have shown good form in training for the Super Eagles and may just win their first appearance on Saturday against South Africa's Bafana Bafana.
Akpala was called in to replace injured Obafemi Martins while Haruna has been called up before to gain "experience" playing with the Eagles but is yet to get a cap.
Idah Peterside told KickOffNigeria.com that both of them have done well in the team since they started in South Africa.
"They have done well, I mean Haruna, Akpala and even Ola Daniel. Maybe they will get a chance to either start or at least appear for the team.
"No body is assured of an automatic shirt. It is a national team and who ever does well will play so if they keep at it, they may just get a chance to play especially in the absence of players like Kanu, Yobo, Mikel and Martins," Idah said.
As a result of withdrawals and the eligibility controversy of Carlton Cole, the Super Eagles have only seventeen players in South Africa for the match.
