Esu in Menchum Division was the venue of a CPDM section conference that featured the ruling party's Central Committee delegation demonstrating support for militants who stood by President Biya and the party with a 100% victory during the July 2007 legislative and municipal elections. It was a rare moment with song and dance with section militants sounding off how they turned full circle and made a complete reshuffle turning Menchum from the domineering opposition into a militant CPDM bastion.

The conference carried "Economic action and political consolidation" as the theme with Minister Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa, leading the CPDM C.C delegation that included, Dingha Ignatius Bayin, Mme Emma Lafon, and Akaku Barnabas. The Delegation leader who doubles as the Minister of Small and Medium Size Enterprises traveled with a message of encouragement and hope for militants. He promised to cough out CFA 10 million to encourage YCPDM and WCPDM militants who stretch out with common initiative groups in the Sector to alleviate poverty.

Section President, Hon Nji Fidelis predicted a food crisis in future and urged militants to intensify farming activities by being creative. He appealed to militants to consolidate recent political victories by demonstrating same support during imminent elections for President Paul Biya whose policies inspire hope for Cameroon while Guest Speakers Hon.
