In every epoch in the world, the music industry nurtures great talent that thrills fans with spectacular lyrics and Zimbabwe is no exception.

In the 1980's, James Chimombe delighted music fans when he released a string of records with the Huchi Band and the Ocean City Band.

A guitarist and composer, Chimombe transformed the local music industry with his strong vocals, blending rhumba and mbaqanga to form some sweet sungura mix.

When Chimombe died in 1990, he left songs which are still classics today. They include the ever popular Jememedza, Siya Wawoneka, Kudakwashe, Cecilia, Bindura and Munakandafa.

Best Of comprises 13 songs.

Thomas Makion -- The Very Best

In remembering the late musician Thomas Makion, Zimbabwe Mu-sic Corporation (ZMC) has released eight of his best songs on the album The Very Best of Thomas Makion.

The album comprises songs Makorokoto from the album Mako-rokoto Chipo Changu, Ndaringaringa (Ushe Ma-dzoro), Chisvo Chas-avara (Chisesekedzo Hard Times), Kuparara Kwe-nyika (title album), Zino Irema (title album) and Nemangwe (Makorokoto Chipo Changu).

Produced by Tymon Mabaleka, the album covers Makion's entire album catalogue and celebrates his sungura artistry.

Makion used to partner cousin, Leo-nard Zhakata and tog-ether they fronted Ma-ungwe Brothers.

Mbira Dzenharira -- Fare Fare Tindike!

For those who love mbira music, Fare Fare Tindike! is packed with seven classic tunes that will remind many of traditional bira ceremonies.

From Shanyai, a song about the beauty and wonder of Zimbabwe to the love song Ngatidanane, Fare Fare Tindike! is a complete journey into the traditional mbira grooves. Other outstanding tracks include Kumawere, Musanditange and the instrumental Chipembere Chepasi.

Marshall Munhumumwe and The Four Brothers -- Greatest Hits 1994 to 1996

One of the greatest musicians to emerge in Zimbabwe, Marshall Munhumumwe has had his hits between 1994 and 1996 all packaged in a single compilation. The album has been on the charts for several years on end.

Timeless and rich, Greatest Hits 1994 to 1996 comprises 10 beautiful songs.

The album comprises memorable songs like Matinetsa, Mativenga, Kumawere and Mbereko Yakaramba among others.
