Namibia: MPs to Evaluate 'Shocking' Facilities

Windhoek — The parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security is currently undertaking visits to the regions of Caprivi, Erongo, Hardap, Oshana, Omaheke, Otjozondjupa, Kavango and Khomas, to asses the state of military installations, prisons and border posts, in the aftermath of a N$1-billion allocation from the 2006 additional budget.

This follows an Ombudsman Special Report published last year that condemned the state of some of the facilities.
