South Africa: High Crude Oil Prices Pump Up Sasol's Profit

Johannesburg — PETROCHEMICALS group Sasol expects international crude oil to be "just over" $100 a barrel, chief financial officer Christine Ramon said yesterday.

Sasol's profits are sensitive to movements in the crude oil price. Ramon said a $1 increase in the price of crude oil increased the group's operating profit before tax by R400m.
