South Africa: Nathi Lions Sign Malawian International

Nathi Lions have completed the signing of highly-rated Malawian international left-back Moses Chavula.

Chavula, who scored in the Flames' 3-1 thumping of Djibouti on Saturday in a 2010 World Cup qualifier, impressed the Nathi coaching panel after a two-week trial.

The player's club, MTL Wanderers, confirmed to KickOff.com that they had concluded transfer negotiations with Nathi Lions, who spotted the player during the Cosafa Senior Challenge Cup in Mpumalanga in July.

Malawi's 2006 Player of the Year can also play effortlessly as a left-winger, but he remains underrated due to his height.

He had a one-day trial at Bloemfontein Celtic during July before going to Platinum Stars where things did not work out.

"Moses is better than First Division material, but we had to respect his decision to join Nathi Lions," said Wanderers, general secretary Ambokire Salimu.
