Nigeria: Adun Leadership Crisis - Chiefs Reject Caretaker Committee

Awka — THE leadership crisis rocking Awka Development Union Nigeria (ADUN) has taken a new dimension with the entire titled men in the town rejecting the caretaker committee set up by the Anambra State Government following a deadlock during an election in the area last year.

Governor Peter Obi had during the inauguration of the committee early this year mandated its members to do everything possible to return peace in Awka and to organize fresh elections for the various offices. Since then, the committee has been meeting and also decided to review the town's constitution.
