Harare — ORGANISERS of cross continental modelling showcase M-Net Face of Africa have released casting dates and the new prize money of up to US$50 000.
Besides the hefty monetary prize, M-Net that has also re-launched it's legendary model talent search will offer a three-year modelling contract with Oluchi's dynamic O Model Africa agency.
The new season will take M-Net's Face of Africa team to 12 countries. Zimbabwean models will have to travel to either Zambia or Botswana for casting. In 2006, Zimbabwean model Greatmore Chatya attended her casting session in Botswana.
In each country, there will be one open casting session held at which young women, between the ages of 17 and 24 from anywhere in sub-Saharan Africa, can enter.
Casting began in Botswana and moved to Namibia (August 27), Malawi (September 3), Uganda (September 6) and is expected to take place in Tanzania today.
Other countries where open casting sessions will take place include, Kenya (September 13), Ethiopia (September 16), Nigeria (September 20), Ghana (September 23), Mozambique (September 27), Zambia (October 1), South Africa (October 4) and Angola on October 11.
