Kampala — AFRICA's leading air cargo transporters Ice mark Africa have boosted the women's rugby World Cup qualifying campaign with a sh25m sponsorship offer.
The qualifiers will be staged September 20-21 at Kyadondo ground in Lugogo.
The package was handed over by Ice Mark Africa chairman Kristjan Erlingsson to the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) vice chairman William Blick on Tuesday.
Kristjan said that his company was committed to supporting rugby in Uganda and will continue the partnering with the sport's governing body.
Blick thanked Ice mark Africa for the support and promised that URU will put the sponsorship to proper use.
Icemark Africa has sponsored rugby in Uganda for the last five years.
Nine countries including Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Madagascar, Tunisia, Botswana, Rwanda are in the qualifiers. The teams and host Uganda will be battling for two World Cup slots.
The tournament will be held in Dubai in March. Action will be held alongside the men's rugby 7s World Cup.
