Uganda: Morris Should Up His Game

Latoya, she confidently predicted that no one would nominate her, toyed with both Morris and Ricco, flirted with the female contestants and swayed around the house with an air of invincibility. But I guess she forgot one classic lesson about life- never take things for granted.

The Monday night nominations had their usual drama, with super confident Latoya voted not once, but four times to her horror. So was Sheila who too seemed shocked on knowing her fate.

TK the boy who has learnt the art of sulking, surprisingly never got nominated, whereas Tawana came off the worst with the majority of nominations, leaving her; Sheila and Latoya up for eviction come Sunday night.

Latoya's strategy in the house has been simple - flirt with Morris and Ricco, and you are sure of not being nominated, even possibly walking away with the top prize. What she forgot is that the house has 12 housemates not two.

Whereas "love struck" Morris, and Ricco might not vote you, the others will throw you down the pit. And that is what exactly happened to the Tanzanian, who was nominated by the "others"- Munya, TK, Lucille and Uti, whose reason for nominating her was spot on. "She is playing the game too hard, toying with people's feelings."

Ricco being the head of the house had the right to save his "bed warmer". But blame it on men's insensitivity, cowardice, exploitation, or simply knowing when to do the right thing, Ricco (to the relief of many), refused to save her. Now for those who are drama-obsessed, picture this - Latoya survives eviction, but finds out that her "lover boy" refused to save her despite her showering him with kisses!

As for the drunkard Sheila, it seems her loudness, brashness, and some say laziness, has finally got to the housemates. Mimi moaned about her laziness, whereas Latoya criticised her "know it all" attitude, claiming she behaves like the "queen of Zamunda" (what ever that means). Thami and Morris who nominated the Kenyan, were simply applying the - payback rule - after Sheila nominated them during the fake eviction.

Morris, who this time was nominated once by Sheila (I don't know what that girl has against Morris), had one of those moments he could regret in the future. He nominated Thami, for apparently no reason, despite the fact that he and the South African shared the same humiliation of the fake nomination. One would have thought that Morris and Thami would be close buddies after surviving the humiliation. Moreover Morris's admission that he had no reason for nominating him sounded perplexing (some say stupid) and must have sent shockwaves through the whole of Johannesburg.

Right from the time Big Brother commenced, Morris has come across as someone who isn't to making wise decisions in that house. His coupling up with Latoya, (of late with Tawana, and at times with Mimi), his introverted nature and of late his nominating of Thami (which took him two minutes as he stared at the camera like a Kalahari Desert herdsman!).

One wonders what other blunders the Ugandan has up his sleeve. Morris needs to up his game, and do it fast, and pray that the South Africans have a short memory.

So is it Tawana, Sheila or Latoya seeing the back of Big Brother? Some people are baying for Sheila's blood for nominating our boy-twice, others are fed up of Latoya's two-timing antics (personally I'm not), some feel Tawana has nothing exciting to offer. Let Africa decide. I will not miss Tawana. (No offence to Tawana fans out there).

Big Brother as usual will crank up the excitement, with Kabelo, announcing that two contestants will be evicted on Sunday, one of them will actually return to the house after spending some days away from the Big Brother house. This stunt alone is guaranteed to send the poor chaps in that house close to breaking point trying to "out think" Big Brother.
