Sierra Leone: Frank Kargbo May Replace Sanpha Koroma

Freetown — A senior government official yesterday disclosed that one time attorney general of the national provisional ruling council (NPRC) has been earmarked by the President to replace Sanpha Koroma as his secretary.

Frank Kargbo, who was also the executive secretary of the country's truth and reconciliation commission, TRC has a wealth of experience.

While working for the United Nations mission in Ethiopia Kargbo was also employed on secondment to work as executive secretary of the truth commission. He has done lots of consultancies for many multinational organizations.

Press secretary to the President Sheka Tarawallie said the President would consider all qualified Sierra Leoneans for the position.

"If Frank Kargbo is qualified the President Koroma will award him the job," he said.

Tarawallie added that it is the prerogative of the President to appoint someone who is qualified to serve as his secretary, adding that lots of names are coming up.

"Let's give the President chance so that he can appoint his secretary," he said.

Meanwhile, also interested is Alpha Dumbuya, a former clerk of Parliament.

    Sanpha Koroma has already been replaced by Mr Osho Coker, so this news is stale.However, there are strong indications that Franklyn Kargbo could become the new Attorney General.
