Freetown — As the 2010 World Cup/Africa Nations Cup qualifiers is still ongoing, the national football team, Leone Stars, yesterday received sporting equipment from Hummel manufacturing company.

The donated equipment which include 20 pairs of authentic jersey; shorts and Denmark socks; 22 pairs of Europe woven shorts, Europe jersey; two pairs of Denmark socks, basic goalkeeper short and jersey, was facilitated by Mediatel Company.

Receiving the equipment, Secretary-General of Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Alimu Bah said SLFA is happy to receive the items and for having Mediatel Company as the intermediary between the association and Hummel.

"Mediatel are advocating on our behalf in London. We are fortunate to have Sierra Leoneans at Mediatel who are pushing the affairs of Leone Stars before the London-based company," Bah said.

He further revealed that SLFA is in the process of signing a contract with Hummel to provide sports equipment for national teams.

Mediatel country manager, Mohamed Tarawallie said if the national team can make it to the next stage of the qualifiers, Hummel hopes to do more for the team. He added that Hummel is trying to sign a 4-year contract with SLFA.

He further noted that the company is happy to see Leone Stars emerge victorious against Equatorial Guinea adding that Hummel is also willing to contribute to the premier league football in Sierra Leone.
