Kampala — THE cricket league's leading batsman Joel Olweny of Tornado and Rounders' Michael Kintu who is currently the most efficient bowler, will be looking to engage new gear in today's action.
The two players, with the best averages so far, will be at the Entebbe oval where the teams meet.
Olweny has the most superior batting average of 72 runs in three innings, which is 14.5 runs better than Africa's Junior Kwebiha's average of 57.5 in second place.
Kintu has bowled a total 4.1 overs, claiming 5-25 which translates into an average loss of five runs, one less than has been managed by Tornado's Emmanuel Nakana and Tornado B's David Obuya.
Although Kintu tops the bowling charts and his highlight of 3-4 is the best of any bowler, Nakana and Obuya's loss averages have been reached after a much-higher time of 10.2 and 9.3 overs respectively.
In terms of the best average per overs bowled, Nile's Roger Mukasa, who is in fourth position after giving away an average of 6.88 runs in 20.4 overs, is the best.
However Olweny's status as the most unmanageable player with the bat is not under the shadow of similar technicalities.
Olweny is two runs short of Martin Ondeko's chart topping 218 which, however, Nile's leading batsman harnessed from one more inning than the Tornado star.
Olweny's 183, hit against Nile last month, stands out as the individual highlight of the premier league.
The player is out to increase his run-haul against the winless Rounders.
At the same time, Africa Cricket Club (ACC) is up against Tornado B at the Kyambogo oval.
ACC are seeking to recover from a run of one win and three defeats.
