Kigali — Rwanda's sole medal hopeful in the on going Beijing Paralympics Games, Jean De Dieu Nkundabera failed to reach the finals of the Men's T46 800m on Sunday in China.

Nkundabera finished fifth in heat one of the Men's T46 800m after clocking 2:02:12 but his time could not earn an automatic qualification spot to the finals.

Nkundabera's time failed to take him through as among the two fastest runners with good posted time.

The 2004 Bronze medalist was beaten by four runners, Spanish Ait Khamouch who clocked 2:00:67, Fouzai Mohammed from Tunisia who clocked 2:00:78, Samuel Colmenares from Venezuela and Souza Emicarlo from Brazil who posted 2:00:78 and 2:01:13 respectively.

Nkundabera was rwanda's only representative in the games.
