Super Eagles' Head Coach, Amodu Shaibu has invited 20 players to camp in preparation for the FIFA 2010 World Cup/African Nations Cup qualifying second phase match against Sierra Leone in Abuja on October 11.

Among those invited are six members of the silver medal-wining Under-23 squad at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The invitation of the players is coming on the heels of series of calls from Nigerian football followers that members of the Dream Team IV be called to the Super Eagles team campaigning for a place in the South Africa 2010 World Cup.

The invited U-23 players are midfielder Sani Kaita, defender Ayodele Adeleye, winger Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke, Obinna Nsofor, Osaze Odemwingie and Apam Onyekachi.

Others are Kanu Nwankwo, Joseph Yobo, Everton ace Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who captained the team in the 1-0 win over South Africa in Port and Spain-based striker Ikechukwu Uche, who is Nigeria's leading scorer in the qualifying series with three goals.

The rest are Dele Ayenugba, Austin Ejide, Danny Shittu, Taye Taiwo, Chidi Odiah, Christian Obodo, John Mikel Obi, Kalu Uche, Yusuf Ayila and Joseph Akpala.

Nigeria Football Federation Chief Media Officer, Ademola Olajire said in a statement in Abuja that the players are to report to camp at the NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja on Monday, October 6.

Nigeria, the only team in the qualifying series for the 2010 World Cup worldwide yet to concede a goal, will expect to take the record into the third phase of the African series which begins March next year, and also achieve a 100 per cent record in this campaign.
