In a bid to reduce the prevalence high rate of HIV/AIDS in Karu Local Government of Nasarawa State, LAPO Development Foundation, Nyanya Gwandara, has flagged off awareness campaign for the people to know their status and in good time too to avoid unnecessary suffering and untimely death.

Addressing the people of Nyanya Gwandara area at the quarterly dialogue session, the AGM of LAPO Mrs. Ugo Ezeana, said that it was relevant to mention that "there is no traditional cure for this problem of HIV/AIDS as some people are claiming, because it is impossible to cure what you don't even know its cause no presentation.

Ezeana appealed to all to learn about the problem and try to proffer solutions for them , adding that "if you are not infected, you may be affected," which is a slogan.

According to her, the quarterly dialogue session forms part of their advocacy programme for the enlightenment of people against HIV/AIDS.

Responding, the Local Action Committee of AIDS (LACA) and deputy- director, primary healthcare, Karu LGA, Mrs. Rahab Gideon Dogo, stated that their major factors for fighting the scourge was to create an awareness . She advised the people to be faithful to their sex partners, saying that "if that cannot be done, you should consistently use the condom."
