Freetown — President Ernest Bai Koroma yesterday stormed Njala University campus in the southern provincial district of Moyamba with a high powered delegation.
Speaking to this writer on telephone shortly before departure, the President said he was going to inspect the campus to know whether it is now conducive for students' relocation.
Buttressing President Koroma's statement, State House Press Secretary, Sheka Tarawallie, in a telephone conversation said if the President finds the campus conducive, Njala University currently housed at New England Ville will be relocated to its original Njala campus.
Tarawallie added that, the President may likely make a stop-over visit to one or two towns on his way to Njala to thank the people for their support and co-operation with the administration during its one year in office.
Njala University was relocated to Freetown in the mid-1990s at the height of the civil war.
As usual, President Koroma has been very busy since last weekend. He visited agricultural farms near Rogbantha Potoe in Bombali District. The President and entourage examined some large scale farms and held fruitful discussions with stakeholders in the agricultural sector in the district.
Meanwhile, President Koroma will leave the shores of Freetown on Thursday to attend the UN General Assembly's meeting in New York, USA.
