Nigeria: Nans Honours Dorben Polytechnic Boss

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has bestowed an award of Excellence on the chairman of the management board of the Dorben Polytechnic, Dr. A.B. Ekwere, in Abuja.

The award took place last week at the school's premises in Bwari, Abuja attracting scholars from within and outside the school.

Presenting the award, the Vice President of NANS, Comrade Yemi Success, described Ekwere as an apostle of education whose efforts has helped many youths in their quest for learning.

In his remarks, the polytechnic boss said he appreciated the honour given him and that he would continue to support the development of education in Nigeria.

He said, "nothing would deter me from impacting knowledge on the youths. After spending 14 years in the United States of America, if I had wanted to remain there, I would not have returned."

Dorben Polytechnic is presently the only privately owned institution of higher learning in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
