Super Eagles coach Shaibu Amodu has declared that he would not underrate the Leone Star of Sierra Leone in his next 2010 African Cup of Nations/FIFA World Cup qualifier scheduled for Abuja National Stadium.
The former Dolphin of Port Harcourt soccer tactician told Complete Sports that the October 11 encounter which is already dubbed a formality match is more important than the five games he has played so far in the qualifying series.
"This match is very important to me and I am going to give it the best approach I can to make sure I win. People have been saying it is a formality match but to me it is a very important match and we really have to be serious about it," begins the dark complexioned coach.
"I was given assignment to win all my matches and qualify for both the Nations and FIFA World Cup and that is what I am strictly working towards. We have played five matches, we won all and everybody is happy with the team, so if we win this match even with plenty goals, it would be to the joy of football loving Nigerians."
Amodu who is already targeting victory against the Sierra Leonians in the October 11 encounter, said he would not underrate the visitors.
"We are definitely not going to underrate Sierra Leone despite the fact that we have won five matches. We are going to take the match as if we have not won anyone and I hope my players will understand this fact," he added.
"We went to South Africa and came back with victory, I want you to understand that this was made possible because we did not underrate the South Afri-cans, so we are going to do the same in our next game."
The Super Eagles who curren-tly top their group with 15 points after five victories, will host the Leone Star of Sierra Leone at the Abuja National Stadium.
