Kuito — Fifty out of the 100 residences that are being built by the government in Kuito City, central Bié Province, to minimise the lack of accommodation for young people will be handed over in December, this year, the director of the local youth issues department revealed.
Speaking to ANGOP, Carlos Silva said that the works of the housing estate, located in São José ward, are going well.
He informed that the other fifty houses will be finished by the first half of the year 2009.
"The construction of these residences happens after the signing of an agreement between the Angolan government and the Savings and Credit Bank (BPC), aiming at building residences for young people countrywide", said the source.
Carlos Silva explained that in an initial stage, the beneficiary youths will have to give 20 per cent of the whole amount to be set by the BPC and pay off the debt in a 15 year period.
The official assured that other housing projects will be implemented after the current one.
