A petition has been forwarded to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) accusing the Ondo State Governor Olusegun Agagu and his Accountant General Folake Ogunnika of planning to pay over N1 billion to political appointees in the state.

Some members of Agagu's cabinet are already been investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and ICPC for alleged conspiracy, abuse of office and diversion of public funds for personal use.

Some commissioners and permanent secretaries have been quizzed by EFCC and ICPC over alleged diversion of N12.5 billion from the state treasury to secret accounts. The petition said, "We also have information that arrangements have been concluded to cart out enormous amount of money out of the state treasury before the judgement in the appeal case." The petition signed by Oladele Yusuf also queried "What will happen to the unsecured loan that he wants to urgently dole out if he loses his appeal and has to vacate office with his appointees?" Sources told Daily Trust the ICPC has received the petition and it would be investigated.
