A sales agent of Pari Mutuel Urbain Camerounais, PMUC, Judith Chamouli, whose kiosk is located at 'KDD' in New Quarter in Douala, on September 12, helped a staker to win FCFA 50 million.

Chamouli made one change in the combination that the staker showed up to validate for that night's race (Quinté + 4/5) at Vincennes. As luck would have it, that one figure which Chamouli changed at the request of the staker, gave the staker the winning numbers in order.

In so doing, the staker pocketed FCFA 50,123,000, which the company had put up for grabs. The story goes that the combination of figures the staker had made at home stood as follows: 11, 7, 15, 2, 1.

The sales agent, on her part, replaced the 2 with 17. Thus, the combination the staker validated was 11, 7, 15, 17, 1 for a mere FCFA 400.From the FCFA 10 million, which PMUC had put up for the Quinté + 4/5 on that September 6, the number of carry-forwards had on September 12 raised the stakes to FCFA 50, 123, 000.

Fortunately, the New Bell staker was the only person in the country who had the winning numbers in order.Meanwhile, after the bank transaction at SGBC Bonanjo, there was the traditional ceremony at the PMUC headquarters on September 16, for the handing over of the symbolic cheque.

The colourful ceremony was presided over by the General Manager of PMUC, Jean-Yves Tomi, and was attended among other personalities by the representatives of two of the company's partners, SGBC and Gras Savoye (insurance).

Back To School

The different speakers at the ceremony were happy to observe that many PMUC stakers had won big sums of money during this period when children are going back to school. It was recalled, for example, that on September 5, a jackpot of FCFA 110 million was won in the Quinte + 4/5.
