Kampala — THE Government has enough money to lend to people who need it, gender and culture state minister Lukia Nakadama has said.

However, Nakadama urged the people intending to borrow to first be sure of how they would use the money.

She was presiding over the annual general assembly of Bukesa Kwagalana Co-operative Savings and Credit Society at their office in Old Kampala. The group, which was started six years ago as a gift circle, has developed into a micro-finance institution.

Nakadama observed that most people do not have plans and when they borrow money, they simply squander it.

'The problem with other groups is that members squander the money because they borrow it without a clear plan. I also urge you to instill in yourselves the saving culture. You should also know that the Prosperity-For-All programme involves a lot of hardwork. You will not prosper unless you work hard," Nakadama asserted.

The ceremony that attracted over 300 members was attended by the Kampala resident district commissioner, Alice Muwanguzi, and Kampala Central Division chairman Godfrey Nyakana.
