Ghana is likely to turn to in-form Matthew Amoah to rescue their 2010 World Cup campaign after coach Milovan Rajevac revealed he will reward the striker's fine start to the season with a Black Stars recall.
Amoah has not played for the Black Stars since he was dropped from the 2008 Nations Cup squad and turned down the chance to play in the friendly against Tanzania.
That did not go down well with Ghanaian officials but the NAC Breda striker has been in good goal scoring form making him hard to ignore now.
He has hit the net four times in three games to add to his eleven goals from last season and told KickOffGhana.com he is willing to pull on the national colours again.
"I will turn up if I am told to do so for the game against Lesotho. There is no reason for me to decide all of a sudden that I won't play for Ghana again."
Now Rajevac has hinted he will give him the opportunity to back his words with deeds. "Amoah has scored four goals in three matches in a major European League like the Netherlands and I have to observe him more closely."
Amoah has not scored for Ghana since the build up to the 2006 World Cup but he scored three times during those qualifiers.
His form at the start of this season has also coincided with what is perceived to be a general lack of cutting edge and good finishing in the Black Stars.
