Nigeria: Sepa Uncovers Plot to Unseat Ogbulafor

The South East Peoples Assembly, (SEPA), said it had uncovered plots by some disgruntled elements that lost in the control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to destabilise the party's leadership under Prince Vincent Ogbulafor with a view to toppling it.

The group further warned that such recalcitrant members must be shown the way out as they had no respect for level playing ground in politics of the 21st century.

Addressing newsmen Tuesday in Abuja, the National Chairman of SEPA, Chief Nnanna P. Nosike, decried the activities in Anambra State of the former Special Adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Andy Uba, describing it as unfortunate and part of the alleged plots.

"Party leadership must move decisively to chase them out of the party before it is too late. Uba is not a foundation member of the PDP in Anambra State. He did not even contribute to its development. He is at best a product of the Obasanjo garrison brand of politics and thinks that the party still belongs to them.

"They must be shown the way out as they have no respect for level playing ground in politics. We cannot allow them to use their ill-gotten wealth to hijack PDP in Anambra State. Enough is enough and we must all rise to call the bluff of Uba and his antics", Nosike said.

While worried that the likes of Andy Uba and his garrison-branded-political class still exist in the present century and should be shoved off, Nosike advised the former Anambra State PDP gubernatorial candidate to go and form his own party if he thinks he is popular.

"If Andy Uba and his group are so popular, they should go and form their own party. Their current activities are all part of the plots to undermine the Yar'Adua government. Nigerians are no longer willing to tolerate their brand of politics.

"SEPA would no longer sit and watch these few destabilising the unity of the Peoples Democratic Party. We hereby warn them to desist from their plot as we are prepared to take on Uba and his group of trouble makers. We insist that enough is enough".
